b) Mid Yorks - e-discharges
As you are aware Mid Yorks Emergency Department are now sending e-discharges, as a service they are achieving around 95% success rate with this. Mid Yorks are noticing that GP practices are sometimes sending discharge letters back via paper. They have noticed this tends to happen with patients who are perhaps no longer registered with your practice.
From today please can you send incorrect e-discharges back via email instead of via
paper. The email address for the returned discharges is midyorks.ed_cito_letters@nhs.net
c) Calderdale and Kirklees Single Point of Access (CKSPA)
Changes and improvements are being made to Calderdale and Kirklees Single Point of Access (CKSPA) which will make them more responsive to different levels of need. From 20th July 2020 they will be offering a wider range of assessment appointments in line with good practice identified in the UK Triage Scale. These will come under the following categories:
· Very Urgent / Urgent requiring an assessment within 4 / 24 hours,
· Semi-Urgent requiring an assessment within 72 hours,
· Routine requiring an assessment within 14 days.
If you feel that a patient requires an assessment within 4 hours or 24 hours please initially telephone the referral to CKSPA (01924 316830) to give details and a clear means of contacting the patient. This should be followed up by an emailed referral form summarising the referral. More information on the UK triage scale can be found at: https://ukmentalhealthtriagescale.org/

d) For info/awareness: Clinical guide for extra corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for respiratory failure in adults during COVID
