HMT funding for the hospice sector to support the COVID-19 response

On 10 April 2020, the Government announced additional funding of up to £200 million over the next three months to enable the NHS to purchase extra support from

hospices to deliver additional inpatient beds and end of life community services. (Letter attached)

To all practices offering level 2 stop smoking services,

Yorkshire Smoke Free Calderdale (YSFC) would like to reassure you that their Specialist Stop Smoking Advisors are able to take on your case load if you feel your practice does not have capacity to support patients to quit smoking at the moment.

As you are aware, there is no better time for your patients to stop smoking. Quitting

smoking is an important way for individuals to reduce their risk from coronavirus

(Covid-19). Please call YSFC on 01422 262373 to discuss further if you require any help.

All sexual health queue and wait clinics have been suspended until further notice.

Temporary arrangements for the Open Minds Partnership (CAMHS) during COVID-19

An update on the temporary arrangements in place for the Open Minds Partnership (the new name for CAMHS) is now live on the Calderdale CCG web site, should you wish to link to this page. Management of Cancer Referrals - Final Version Cancer Referrals during COVID-19: Principles & Guidance WY&H

The attached provides updated guidance and principles on management of cancer referrals. Skin referrals reminder - ask the person being referred to take a photo to send with the referral and also remind the person of the need to attend for treatment. Skin referrals are problematic at the moment for attendance. We are concerned that there is a public perception that it may be less important either at this time or in relation to other types of cancer.
