I am a hard working GP at Queens Road Surgery with an interest in teaching. I am also a GP tutor and FY2 educational and clinical supervisor.
For the last 6 years I have been involved in appraising GP's within the Calderdale area.
I truly enjoy my job as a General Practitioner and now being part of Calderdale LMC I will be able to help support our local GP's.
My outside interests include football, running and cricket. I completed the London Marathon in April 2018.

Dr Emma Gayle joined Brig Royd Surgery in Ripponden as a partner in June 2018. She graduated from Sheffield University and trained to be a GP in Bradford. After spending ten years as a GP partner in Bradford she took her family to Jamaica to work for four years, trying government employment and being self-employed. Returning to the UK in 2010 Emma tried a variety of locum and salaried posts in West Yorkshire before joining the Brig Royd team.

Sangeetha is a GP at Rastrick Health Centre and has been working in Calderdale since 2014. She started her GP training with the Eastern Deanery in Kings Lynn and completed this in Birmingham West Country. She has interests in Dermatology and Contraception.

My name is Michaela Mensah, I am a GP at Keighley Road Surgery where I have worked for 4.5years and became a partner 2 years ago. I love the challenge and variety general practice provides. I enjoy all clinical work but have a special interest in female health and palliative care.
We are facing significant changes in general practice and the shape of the health service nationally. I am excited to be at the forefront of these changes with the LMC and hope to lead primary care services in Calderdale forward to a stable and sustainable future.

Seema works as a Partner at Spring Hall Medical Practice and has been in Calderdale since 2000. Prior to this, she was a GP Partner in North London. Seema has an interest in Dermatology and has worked as a GPwSI at Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust.

She has been a member of Calderdale LMC for about 12 years and is the current LMC Chair. She is a forward-thinker with a progressive approach:

"I am a firm believer that General Practice can be sustainable and fulfilling for both the profession and patients, despite the current climate, if we work together to adapt and develop."

"In my spare time(!) I love to travel and decorate cakes."

Richard is a GP at Rosegarth Surgery having moved from Queens Road Surgery on the 1st Feb 2019. He has been working as a GP in Calderdale since 2001. Prior to that, he trained as a GP in Barnsley and worked in various practices across South and West Yorkshire as a Locum GP. He is a graduate of University of Leicester Medical School. He was born in Singapore where he spent his childhood.

He has been a committee member of the LMC since 2012. He is a full time GP and loves his work, caring for his patients. He is a keen cyclist in his spare time.

I completed GP training with Pennine GP VTS and have worked as GP in Calderdale since 2000. I joined PlaneTrees in 2016 and my interests include Diabetes Care and Information Technology in Healthcare.
Have been involved in LMC,Practice based commissioning and Calderdale Clinical commissioning Group over last 10 years.
I believe in holistic care and preventive medicine.

Nigel has worked in Calderdale since he was a GP Trainee. He works as a Partner at Hebden Bridge Group Practice and has done since 1995. His medical interests include Respiratory Medicine, Minor Surgery/Joint injections and cost-effective, safe prescribing.

Nigel has attended LMC meetings for some years but only became a committee member in 2016. He is a GP Member of Calderdale CCG Governing Body and has been since its inception.

"I love being a GP. We are the only doctors caring for the whole person over longer periods of time. We have a vital role to continue to play in a quickly changing environment."

"In my spare time I love making the most of our beautiful Pennine countryside."

130: Dr Rukhsana Hussain

Rukhsana works as an Independent Locum GP in Calderdale and surrounding areas. She has worked at several Practices in the area since completing the Pennine VTS scheme in 2013. She joined the LMC as Sessional GP Representative in January 2017.

Her role has involved improving engagement with Sessional GPs as well as representing their interests. She also developed the LMC website and maintained it between October 2017 and January 2019.

Rukhsana is passionate about General Practice, Evidence-Based Medicine and Medical Education. She founded The Pennine GP Learning Group in 2016 to enable GPs to learn with their peers and continues to run it on a monthly basis. The group has a dedicated website where presentations are uploaded for the benefit of the wider GP community. Rukhsana also works in the capacity of a GP Appraiser.

LMC Liaison Officer

Marcus joined the LMC in January 2019 to fulfill the role of Liaison Officer.
Previously, Marcus has held senior positions within Local Authority and Public Health Commissioning as well as the Third Sector.

In addition to supporting the business function of Calderdale LMC and functioning as the first point of contact, Marcus will also both represent and advocate for the LMC across partners, stakeholders and GP practices on key local and national policy.
