Calderdale's Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service Guide for Professionals

Calderdale Council and Calderdale CCG in conjunction with Open Minds have produced a service guide to help professionals who support children and young people experiencing emotional health and wellbeing difficulties.

Brief details of services included in the guide are outlined below: 

 

CAMHS - Calderdale Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (free service).

Insight:Early Intervention in Psychosis (free service) - For young people from age of 14 experiencing a first episode of psychosis or who are suspected of being at risk of developing symptoms of psychosis.

Kooth.com (free service) - Safe, confidential and anonymous online counselling support service for young people aged 11-25 years.

Healthy Minds, Time Out (charges may apply) - A self-referral scheme that gives young people aged 13-19 access to a range of activities. They run courses and workshops relating to emotional wellbeing such as stress, self harm and self esteem. 

Disc, Branching Out (free service) - A confidential drug, alcohol and tobacco service for young people in Calderdale aged between 10-21 years. 

Family Intervention Team (FIT) (free service) - Deliver support to children, young people and families when they have been identified as having additional needs that cannot be met within Universal Services. The emphasis is on early intervention and prevention of escalation into statutory services. 

The Turning Point Counselling Service (charges may apply) - Help those aged 14 and above who need someone to talk to, someone who will listen and understand, someone specially trained and someone they can trust. 

Time 2 Talk (Relate) (charges may apply) - A confidential counselling service for children and young people aged 11-24 years. 

Staying Safe Children & Young People's Domestic Abuse Support (free service) - Open to any child or young person who is affected by domestic abuse between the ages of 5-18 years. 

SENDIASS: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service (charges may apply) - provides legally based, impartial, confidential and accessible information, advice and support for parents of children and young people aged 0-25 with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities about education, health and social care.

Young People's Service (free service)  - This service works with young people aged 11-25 and takes a youth work approach to informal learning and personal development. 

Unique Ways - Supporting Families of Disabled Children (free service) -Services are offered to parents and carers of disabled children and young people aged 0-25 years. A formal diagnosis is not required. 

Identity LGBTQ+ Youth Group (free service) - Offer confidential support and advice to young people regarding sexuality and gender identity. 

Noah's Ark Centre Therapeutic Services for Children and Young People (charges may apply) - Offer counselling/psychotherapy to young people aged 11-21, 1:1 therapeutic play to children aged 5-11 and a facilitated peer support programme, Rainbows, for children aged 5-11 experiencing loss in various ways.

Young Person's Prevention and Support Service - Provides support to young people aged between 16 and 21 (up to age of 25 for care leavers) in Calderdale who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. 

Local Offer - Giving children and young people up to the age of 25 with special educational needs and disabilities and their families information and support about what support services are available in their local area.
